International Cuisine for GPS volunteers from EVS volunteers :)

Today we have made a great event which united GPS and EVS volunteers together. The day was dedicated to international cuisine which varies from country to country. Where to observe these varieties if not here, with us, European Voluntary Service Volunteers 🙂 We are 14 volunteers from Georgia, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Moldova, Spain, Turkey and Ukraine. Imagine what diversity each of these countries’s cuisine can contain! 😉 And we imagined and made a real performance for GPS volunteers in Foundation “Wiatrak” this day of 27th of April.

The mood starting from the morning was fantastic J Ready to prepare, surprise and taste delicious dishes. 🙂 Let’s start from amazing weather which really surprised us today: 31 degrees and I feel that it is only the start of a very hot spring.

We were divided into two groups each of which cooked for 10 GPS volunteers. In my group Anna, our Italian volunteer started from preparing pizza.UkraineandGeorgiawere the next. The dish that was prepared by Ukrainian team was “okroshka”- a cold soup perfectly suited for such a hot weather as today. 🙂

Georgian team cooked traditional Georgian dish – lobio (beans with walnuts) and mchadebi (corn bread). Sophie, our Hungarian volunteer prepared a chocolate desert. The most exciting moment was the process when we tried to teach GPS volunteers fromPolandhow to prepare all these in Polish language! But we managed to create such a table that was a real surprise for all of us.

In the second group a Spanish team prepared a salad “ala Murciana”, “mamaliga” which was prepared by Dumi, our Moldavian volunteer, Evija cook a special kind of pancakes with potatoes and carrot, Turkish team surprised us with the way they made a fruit salad and served it  🙂 Later we tried every dish and enjoyed the variety of taste 🙂
